How Do You Thin Out A Wig With Bangs?

Manufacturers of wigs are all about providing people with thick and voluminous hair. That is why some wigs are incredibly thick and dense for some people. If that is the case with your wig, you can always thin it out quickly at home.

Here is everything you need to know about thinning out a glueless wig with bangs.

What You Require

The process of thinning a wig is straightforward, which is why you only require three things: thinning scissors, hair clips, and a hairbrush. Many people think they can thin out a wig with a pair of regular scissors at home, but that is the biggest mistake you can make.

A regular pair of scissors is all about cutting and will not achieve the thinning look. Thinning scissors have fine teeth that offer clean cuts and trim some of the hair. Once you are done, these scissors will help you achieve a natural and beautiful appearance.

Hair clips are for partitioning your wig and keeping it that way while cutting. On the other hand, a hairbrush is necessary as it will help you smooth the hair and keep it untangled.

How To Thin Out A Wig?

Now that you have your tools, here are the steps to thinning out a wig:

  1. Prepping The Wig

Place your wig on a wig stand, and using the hairbrush, split your hair evenly. Doing this will help you manage the hair more quickly as you start thinning out. Keep in mind to start from the top and stick with the middle layers instead of the outer.

On the other hand, you should not cut close to the root as that will lead to stubby and short hair. Now that you are prepared, it is time to begin.

  1. Thinning Out The Wig

Place a quarter-inch of a hair section in your hand in between the thinning scissors. The smooth part of the scissor should be on the top. Begin with a small cit and pull up, which will cause your hair to come out with the scissors.

Now that you know the technique, you should repeat it through all the sections of the lace front wig. Keep checking your progress while doing this to ensure you are only thinning the hair. If you get too engrossed in it and don’t check consistently, you will end up losing more hair.

  1. Try The Wig

Finally, you should try on the wig once you are done and see how the hair looks. If you think the wig is still too thick, you can repeat the entire process once more on your wig. Take your time, and don't rush till you achieve the perfect hair look.

Final Words

These three steps are the only ones you need to follow to start thinning out your wig. It is a straightforward process that does not require much technical knowledge. Believe in yourself and follow the guidelines to get a thinner invisible wig that does not provide unnecessary volume.
